Tabitha Simmons

I've been a big fan of Tabitha Simmons' styling and Vogue contributions for a while now.  So when I found out she was creating a line of high-end shoes... I was thrilled!!!!  I was practically holding my breath until they came out.  I though that once they had be released I could breath easy again... not the case.  They have taken my breath away!!!!  The little details make this line truly unique and fabulous!!! I tried my best to find a picture of the Bailey style but couldn't.... they are my favorite.  I'll keep hunting.  Congratulations Tabitha!!! I think you found another calling!

Jealousy

Jealousy has consumed me today.  My mom and my brother left this morning for a destination wedding in Mexico!!! Ohhhh.... bitter, bitter jealousy!  Not that I don't have something to look forward to.  Tomorrow, my husband and I are having our very first Thanksgiving at home.  We couldn't visit family because he has to work tomorrow night so we are spending the entire day cooking and listening to music. (With the Lion's game on in the background, of course.)  Even with the promise of squash ravioli in a brown butter sauce, sausage fennel stuffing, and pumpkin pie... I still can't help but be a little jealous of the sun and ocean views my family is enjoying.  Hopefully soon I'll be lounging in the sunshine somewhere (preferably wearing Gucci's new resort collection), but until then I'll just be dreaming...

Classic Claudia

Last weekend, my good friend Alex and I made dinner, drank some wine, and watched one of our favorite movies: "Love Actually."  I know it is still technically too early to watch Christmas movies but we couldn't help ourselves.  One of my favorite story lines is: (SPOILER ALERT!!) Liam Neeson's character, Daniel, suffers a huge loss.  He wife dies, leaving him with a stepson who is hopelessly in love, and between them they devise a way to make her love him back. Daniel, himself, has given up hope for love, until he meets Claudia Schiffer's character at the end... and hope is renewed.  The first time I saw it I almost didn't believe that it was Claudia.  With no makeup and a stocking hat on, she looked like the everyday soccer mom.  In Russian Vogue's December issue, she looks anything but!!!  Proving, yet again, that she can be a mother AND a supermodel.

Farm Girl

I am originally from a small town in central Illinois.  Mendota to be exact, population 7,200 and surrounded by corn fields.   I've since moved on to the busy, bustling city.  I love living in the city.  There is so much to do and see but I do find myself missing the simplicity of that small town.  It is so quiet and peaceful.  People say hi to you no matter if they know you or not.  The air smells better and you never have to worry about parking.

Leaving a trail of breadcrumbs...

In Vogue's December issue there is a great play on the story of Hansel and Gretel.  It is so wistful and beautiful.  My favorite part was that the witch turned out to be Lady Gaga... such a great surprise! I could spend hours looking at this spread.  Maybe it is Grace Coddington's beautiful styling, maybe it is the wonderful photos shot by Annie Leibovitz, or maybe it is because I'm feeling a bit lost myself lately...

Channeling Chanel

I know I've mentioned my love (obsession) with everything Chanel and these pictures are a perfect example why.  Looking at them, I'm actually jealous of the model. (I seriously have a problem)  Beautiful, elegant, with a touch of edge...Karl, I love you!

Life is a circus...

Harper Bazaar's December issue features a great circus-inspired spread.  With bold stripes, mirrors, sequins and lamé it has all the glitz and glamour of the big top. I especially love the mirrored dress and the jagged pink frock with the big black boots... delightful.
