Trick or Treat

One of the few drawbacks of living in a city is you don't get many trick or treaters.  So sad.  I've always loved passing out candy to little ghouls and goblins, princesses and pirates and such.  They look so cute and excited.  I did get a glimpse of an adorable little ladybug walking down my street, heart shaped wings and all.  Halloween is such a great holiday.  I love the history behind it and the fact that it's the one day you can be anyone you want to be.  Rodarte's spring collection is perfect for Halloween.  Dark, shredded and textured, almost like Freddy Krueger got a hold of it.

Black, Black, Black Friday

Yes, this is a Friday post technically posted on Saturday.  But if the sun isn't up does it count?

Bustlin' out

I am a total caffeine addict.  So much so that I don't think it actually affects me anymore (until I miss my morning coffee and end up with a terrible headache).  I usually go to Starbucks for my coffee fix.  Starbucks makes it easy. They're everywhere and their barista/os are well-oiled machines.  I do have to admit, however, that I love going to Caribou more.  Their employees are always a little sassier and they have daily trivia (which the geek in me always enjoys).  Today's trivia is what inspired this post.  The question was, "What Victorian fashion purposely gave women a larger derriere?"  Smiling, I correctly answered the question, "A bustle."  I received my 10 cents off my latté and immediately thought of this little number.  I remember loving Dior's fall couture show and this bustled dress in particular.  If I had this dress I wouldn't have to wonder if my tush looks fat.  Of course it doesn't.  It isn't my butt, just my bustle sticking out. ;)

What I wouldn't give for one of those clutches!!!!  So lust-worthy!  I love McQueen's ability to make his shows a theatrical experience.  He really transports you to a different reality but those insane toe-heels take it to another level!

Red is the color of the sun with my eyes closed...

I've been doing a lot of black and white posts lately so I thought it was time for some color.  There is something so undeniably sensual about the color red and the women who wear it.  You have to have a certain confidence to pull off such a bold hue.  For me, wearing red evokes a certain movie siren attitude. Not to say I become a b*tch when I wear it, but I do sometimes flirt with that line. ;)

Dream on, Dream until your dream come true...

I love Aerosmith!  I have since I saw my first Aerosmith concert my freshman year in high school.  I fell in love with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry.  To me, they define what it is to be true rock stars.  (I mean, Joe plays the guitar with his shirt at the end of every concert! Total rock star move!)  9 concerts later, I think it is safe to say I am totally enraptured in everything Aerosmith.  So when I saw Balmain's S/S 2010 runway show I immediately thought of Steven and Joe.  Tight leather pants, ripped tops, messy hair, bad ass jackets, it all screams rock star!  So needless to say, I totally loved it!
